I am 'self taught' except for Adult education classes. I wanted to make sure I had a handle on the basics. The first semester I learned the concepts of value, intensity and all the uses of color. Now I just paint in a group in an independent study atmosphere. This has improved my work tremendously.

I just can't commit to one style. Some definitions of style even include subject matter - I could never just paint the same type of subject over and over. I do see the use of style for 'branding', but it would be so boring!

The holy grail is to spend less time making the picture than it takes people to look at it.
