Re:ACEO's 9 Years, 3 Months ago
The cherry aceo here is on a small card, 3.5"x2.5" with rounded corners. The entire card is shown here. I've stopped doing them because some people said they didn't want the rounded corners. I now have some other cards so could have another go at some.

The aceos I do are originals, not prints so they're not cropped images.

If I was going to do an aceo similar to one of my larger works, they would still be originals and would never be exactly the same.

Thanks Cathy, for answering my dumb questions, I am really enamored of these when they are really good art. Which I consider your's to be.

I see what you mean about originals, And I use the same premise with my jewelry pieces. Some may have the same pattern but because each is hand made one at a time, they would have differences based on the medium that I use.

I love the ACEO' s that are in this forum!

I don't think I would like the round corners as much as the squared ones, then I would think of them more as cards rather then little bitty paintings!

I think the rounded corners cut too much off the painting if people want to frame them. I do know people though that just simply collect them as cards and don't mind. I did sell an entire set like this to one lady. I will do them without the rounded corners in future though.

So happy you like my work, thank you.

I have recently started making ACEOS in watercolor. In fact it´s my project for this week. I have have sold some to my surprise on Etsy. I guess it´s an affordable way to collect art and not every one has the wall space to display larger works.

I have always painted and drawn big so it is good training for me to work on a smaller scale. I always like a challenge - because a minimal amount of material is uses I feel free to experiment.

It has been interesting to read this thread with other peoples thoughts and ideas about the subject. It´s made me feel more enthusiastic about my new project ..... must go, painting to be done..
