Sometimes I like to do something a little "jolting", unexpected, which hopefully gnaws away at people's perceptions. Altered art lends itself to this. I used an old postcard of a church in Amsterdam (the one seen by Ann Frank from her hiding place) and cut out two stained glass "saints." Then I made the saints have fun, playing. So many people consider anything to do with church/saints/religion to be dour, stuffy, unreal. But that is not the case, as these playful saints will testify.
