I paint every day, but it is my job, so it goes with the territory.

I work best/most productively between 6pm and midnight, so that's my work 'day'. I also fit in a couple of hours of online stuff during the day a couple of days a week and do online stuff pretty much all the time.

I found early on getting a routine that fit my schedule and my body clock was important. I wouldn't last long getting up at 7 or 8am and forcing myself to work. I'm a night owl and just find it easier to settle in the evenings.

A routine is vital I feel. I'm finding it difficult to stick to though. We live in a pretty much derelict place and there's constant distractions and things that need to be done 'urgently'. Having to go shopping over an hour away means that most of the day is gone too. I need to move and then hopefully life can return to some kind of routine where I will get to paint each and every day!

I'm not a painter but I really want to get back into the habit of drawing every day. I recently discovered the Every Day Matters Yahoo group, inspired by the book of the same name by Danny Gregory, and I've found this really helpful.

I do try to draw daily but generally manage it for 3 or 4 days and then some kind of emergency will happen to upset me routine and I get out of the habit again. I dont seem to be able to keep it up.

They say you need to do something for 21 days in order for it to become ingrained into your routine but as I never get beyond 3 consecutive days of drawing Im not holding out much hope
