TOPIC: Challenge?

I think that's a good workable format.
I'd be in favor of this and it might promote participation in TAS generally as we would be logging in to see today's or this week's challenge.

A color theme challenge sounds great. At least that way everyone could participate.
You can count me in if it goes ahead.

Thanks Doreen. We are still considering how to set it up. It's a little tricky with setting up a voting system of some kind but we'll work on it.

I am participating in an art quilt challenge that uses a word for the theme. Each artist interprets that word. Perhaps that could be a way to go that could allow all disciplines. Or perhaps have two 'prompts'; a colour for more literal interpretation and a 'word' for more conceptual. Each can choose which they want to use.

I would prefer no voting but instead feedback and critique. One of the things I miss from art school is the critique sessions.

That's a great idea claynfiber. I was thinking about some kind of polling system so that I can see which are the most popular images, these could then be featured on the front page. If I don't do this, I would have to judge this myself and I don't think that is so fair.

The problem with feedback and critique is that not everyone is very kind or takes it well. I've seen many people get very upset and I really don't want that kind of negativity on this site. What I did instead was set up a feedback section on this forum so that if you want feedback/critique on a particular work, as I have already done, then you can ask for it. I would always be happy to do that.
