Didn't know where else this might have belonged. I took this up lately mostly because I wanted one of my own.

Not exactly traditional in the sense of fibre art, or in whipmaking. Nylon 550 paracord. 12 plait, 6 foot snakewhip. It works frighteningly well, I'd call it fully functional.

Wow! That's really clever. You could have put this in tutorials but it doesn't really matter, here is fine. I really like this, something like this would look great as curtain tie backs. Is that what you made this for? Hrafn and Svartr will like this.

Oh no, this isn't a decorative thing at all, it's a fully functional whip. I'm a bit out of practice, but it'll crack and cut just like any other. I am thinking about opening up an online shop for these and some other plaited work, bracelets, belts. Curtain ties aren't a bad idea at all actually. ;>

Hehe! I aim to please! You can see how my mind works, I never even thought of a whip. I just love home decorations so I get a one track mind! lol If you could add loops at the end, they would make great tie backs. They also look great with a few beads stitched into them. Need any more ideas?

Yep, all gutted. There's some Other materials involved; vinyl tape, a bit of chain in the core for weight, and the copper scroll inside the heel knot. The cracker is made from the internal nylon cord, as well as the foundation for the heel knot.

I've since fixed the first bad knot foundation so that bizarre knotwork doesn't exist anymore.
