Cathy, if you want a sharp pointy rubber for fine details, before you buy the rubber pencil, try taking any solid rubber (as opposed putty) and slice the corner off at 45 degrees. You then have a triangular rubber with 2 sharp edges to use. When it goes 'blunt', slice the little rascal again.

If you lend someone £20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Oh yes! Great idea! Hehe! What would I do without you! It's just so difficult for me to get anything here.

Great job Cathy and I agree with MightFine that you don't need to feel disapointed in this piece. It really is lovely and you have some wonderful advice now.

MightFineArt. This is wonderful advice. I use a stylo..my home made one is. a clutch pencil with a darning needle that Nev used a miniature grinder to grind it off to a smooth point for me.
a good thing I learned from your comments is that is is good to use on the eyes also.
Your work is amazing.

I suppose when you work on something so closely, you just see the faults. As time goes, I'm being more objective. Hopefully I can avoid those faults in subsequent work.

If anyone else is looking in thinking about using erasor pencils and similar type products, I also use one of these

It is probably one of my most used tools second to my pencil sharpener

I wouldn't be without one ChrissyMarie. But I do have to get them from the UK or USA. I can't find anywhere that stocks them in Au.

I keep a good supply. LOL. They are a great little tool.
