Can you help me take this to the next level? 8 Years ago
First of all, I'm new to painting starting in my 50's and am trying to develope a style. Therein lies my problem...I love so much art and want to try it all! I was at the museum looking at the Picasso's the other day which inspried me to paint the attachment. Not really cubist, but I had Picasso in my head. Can any of you help me take this to the next level? I like the colors of the stomach and I like the pose although I think the tata's are too big and round. But it's frustraiting me.

No the tata's r fine for te style u r going for, but the shadows r a bit confusing, even if it's abstract, u must stil have a point from where u r light is coming from, If it was me I would make the highlights a bit more brighter and a little bit on the tummy. enjoy painting

I think it's a good point about the shadows. To me the piece feels unbalanced since it's light at the top of the picture and dark at the bottom. It is abstract but I think it should still feel balanced and cohesive.

you are welcome.
if you don't want to go for realistic colors then you can use, ,green, blue and purple for your shadows and yellow, red and orange where the light is shining.
