Total Art Soul - for artists

Lets say about two weeks ago I had a conversation with a fellow artist and a good friend of mine, that popped the idea into my head which lead me to proceed with this idea.

Wondering Raine my painting  which you maybe familiar from my last blog if not here is the painting of her bellow.

This Idea encouraged me to buy some clay and guess what I decided make jewellery.  The first week I researched how to make to it.  The second week bought I non-fired clay to make samples.  My initial idea didn't start from Raine rather than Sugar Skull Designs which are still in my head and will do in the future. However I was more excited in turning my paintings into a Jewellery design.  Which I now gonna go with the slogan 'take with you a mini canvas every where', or something on those lines. Bellow is some quick rough sketches of some designs.

Bellow are the samples of the pedants in non-fired clay before they are painted.

The bellow image was the first design I did out of clay and made it slightly raised too. Before it was painted i was not quite sure about it, that's why i made another pendant with out the raise.  The outcome of both pendants, I love and when I finally receive all my new equipment I make both pendents on a necklace unique and different.

Bellow is the flat pendant painted.

I made some smaller designs to be fitted as dangling earrings.

Finally here is the heart set and earring set.

You have no Idea how frustrated I am.  I am now waiting on the ordered materials such as clay that can be fired and findings due to the last bank holiday things are moving a bit slower.  I can't wait till I can finally get start on the actual collection then hopefully begin to exhibit them along side my paintings.    It will be all finished in the precious metal sterling silver findings and I hope my first customer will adore my first handcrafted 'The wondering Raine Collection' jewellery.  I'm so excited regardless of the set backs.

Wondering Raine

I haven't really been articulated about my paintings before now.  Maybe Its because I don't want to spoil the the viewers experience, when seeing my paintings for the time.  The artists that I have gotten to know, follow a similar practice and perhaps common amongst other creatives also.

Wondering Raine started from a dream I had.  I've had other dreams that resulted in me pursing it in to art form, which I tell you about when I blog those art works. For now this is about  Wondering Raine.

Raine has developed a lot since the initial dream.  I began  illustrating her from sketches then to digital and from that, I was encouraged by another artist to paint her.   I have  a few media projects on the go and plan one day to create an animation of this character.  However my paintings of Raine (which I also plan to do more of) I want them to remain abstract and keep the images in my mind unique rather than explaining a story, which then becomes illustrated works.   When I'm working with Raine on a painting I may wanna leave the initial story and explore another tangent while I paint.

With this painting I'm communicating certain emotions, one of them is searching for love and the journey it takes you on. On this journey one can be blinded by the dangers.  Which also beholds Raine on her journey.

On the 27th of November I exhibited 3 of my paintings among many other rising   and successful artists that stay in Scotland.  It was an open free event, to any one and the centre also had evening entertainment. To bring people together to mingle and to meet new people.

The phoenix centre has 3 floors and there was good spots for every artist.  I have personally met the organisers Julie Coulter and Mark Getty.   They worked hard at net working to bring Scotland's artist together for the Phoenix Centre. To make this project achievable and I feel they did a great job.

In the next few pictures are samples of different artist work on display.

Originally the exhibition was open for one day.   The organisers have changed there minds are keeping it open for the next two weeks from the 27th during the week day to all public.  Which is great.  It was a great day, seeing my work on the wall and being seen. It was a great a feeling.  I keep you all up dated on the progress of the exhibition and the Phoenix Centre.  :)
